What do I need for an at-home birth?

December 10, 2017

One of the most common questions about homebirth is, “What will I need?” While the list of supplies varies from birth to birth, there are some basic things that I recommend my clients gather in preparation for the birth.

I ask my clients to order my custom birth kit at www.preciousarrows.com . This kit contains many handy disposable items that you may find very helpful during labor, birth or postpartum.

I'll also ask you to gather the following and store them in a large tub or laundry basket. Though this list is by no means all inclusive or absolutely necessary, many of these items are helpful to have as well. I like to call it a scavenger hunt rather than a shipping list, as you'll notice you may already have many of the items already, and will simply need to gather them in one place.
